all over this town is going away. and by away, i mean its relocating servers because Blogger has some fancy-schmancy FTP bullshit, so we have to relocate to wordpress.

i welcome the change. i have been using Wordpress on this new blog, and its been working very well so far. i seem to have more options than blogger.

Josh Highland offered to transfer everything over to the new publisher, but honestly id rather start fresh, with a somewhat new format, and make it bigger and better.

my goal with this blog was to have a hardcore version of the Bastard Squad blog, and aside from one contribution from Rich Hall, it was mostly myself and James doing all the posts. id like to change that, and i will be giving "assignments" to people. id like this blog to be a site that people want to see whats new on, but unfortunately i cannot do that all by myself.

im not sure when the switch will be, as i am computer tech illiterate and need someone to fucking baby me through everything. all i can say is, Josh Highland is a genius, and id be lost without him.

holy. fuck. Creation Is Crucifixion is fucking amazing.

this video looks to be from close to the end, before their hiatus. its short, but the camera is very clear. probably the most clear of any ive seen.

and this video... the sound quality isnt very good, all you can really hear is drums, but thats fucking Karl Hlavinka in the background playing guitar. Karl went on to be in Race Traitor and Kill The Slavemaster, and he is an amazing dude.
i really miss this band. they were so fucking ahead of their time, in so many ways.

speaking of Kill the Slavemaster, here's an awesome video from 2001. this was a very good time for music, in my opinion. seeing KTSM with Since By Man was always super fun. good dudes, amazing jamz.

Since being glued to my desk as of late. working furiously on shows and trying to curb habits due to a past stint in the hospital. So with this new found time i have been going back down memory lane. i have been thinking about the past. how good music was, the shows, the imagination my friends had when they were playing music. this is a time and a sound i forgot and is coming back slowly in this here underground scene. this is what i am digging on. i sincerely go check these bands out if you don't know who they are.

lickgoldensky -"s/t" -This Philadelphia band that has now a member of gods and queens in it and one of the most strangest vocalist you'll ever meet.they played with soilent green on a tour and alienated 400 fans by showing the then-slight minded metal community a thing or 2. this is a definitely a quality release that never got the proper tour as they broke up after the cd came out.and awesome packaging by ryan patterson to boot.think rollins band joined talking heads.

knut.-"Bastardiser/Challenger"- i always trusted any country overseas for great bands. this is one of them. this band blew my mind and along with the whole snuff records roster. but these guys stood out . finally when "Bastardiser" got re-released by HH in 1999-2001 i listened to this band non stop.I wished and wished they would come to the U.S. and they did!I was lucky enough to book them at cbgb in 2001 while they were on tour with Isis. they really killed it . too bad no one really cared for them.

Gospel " the moon is a dead planet" thank god this band is reforming. i always dug this band and what they did live. the split with kodan armada was just a precursor to their progression on TMIADP. their style was really different than what long island/brooklyn was producing at the time. the music may trail on into free form acid jazz at some times. but it makes you follow along. but the songs are structured then you think. they will hopefully have a new release in 2010

Premonitions of War " Left in Kowloon" . even though graced by a bulldog on the back of their cd. this band was really ahead of their times with their brand of metal. neurosis meets his hero of gone/from ashes rise The sing totally had. one of the best metal voices out there along with Mike Fisketti formerly of Martyr AD. punishing and relentless attack of sonic punishment. i heard the did a reunion show recently.

so ive been trying to get my hands on this Cold World shirt since June. its not particularly rare or anything, but i just think its cool and i want one.
i understand that there have been a couple different colorways. i dont really care which one i get, i just want one that fits.

i had one in size large, but Erica said it was too big for me.

i feel that the blue shirt is an inferior version, and i dont wear crewnecks anymore.

and seriously, who wears yellow? especially with the purple ink. im not into the Lakers, man.

i guess there is also a heather gray version of the shirt

i grabbed this a couple of months ago from some kid in Japan
only 500 were pressed
it features an intro from Nick Woj, DJ/ drummer of Cold World, I Stand Defiant and a cover of Agnostic Front's United Blood
the cover is pretty cool, looks like a legit hiphop 12"
i ripped these tracks using Audacity, and tried to clean it up as much as possible, but you can still hear some pops. its my first real attempt at ripping vinyl to digital though, so hopefully itll get better.
